Handmade gifts are a welcome change from an emergency trip to the mall on your lunch hour ( hear this guys!) and you will be giving a gift that will really speak from the heart!

Jewelry is always a popular option and you can’t go wrong with this fantastic heart necklace from BluKatDesign on Etsy. I love the texture and color of this one!

Maybe she loves to be pampered; a fun gift would be some hand made soap from the talented SunbasilGarden; they look good enough to eat!

Hello, fabulouses, and welcome back to Beauty Tues.

To kick off the new year, I am going to be introducing a brand new VIP Beauty Tues segment–the Nail Color of the Month! So, without further ado, I present to y’all the FIRST EVER color of the month!

A few months ago, I featured Drip Drop Nail Paint’s “Emily Ellyn’s Retro Rad Red” nail color, and that fabulous red hue was my first Drip Drop polish. After being beyond satisfied, I decided to try another–“Bell Bottoms” because not only is it my favorite color (BLUE!!), but it also reminds me of my favorite pair of trousers! (See photo below)

Weekly Whistle: When William Blake Met Handmade

So honored to have a custom bracelet that I made for Abby Hathorn featured on her Vintage Inspired Passionista Blog!

The handstamped cuff features a very inspirational and beautiful quote from William Blake. “No bird soars too high if he soars with his own wings.”

Hello, fabulouses, and welcome back to the blog!

This week on Weekly Whistle, I want to talk about two of my favorite things–William Blake and handmade…and what happens when the two collide! Oh, beautiful things happen…beautiful things! *wink*

Recently, I had my friend Lisa Hamilton of Beadsoul create me a one-of-a-kind leather + copper cuff with my favorite William Blake quote hand-stamped on it.

“No bird soars too high if he soars with his own wings”

The above quote is so simple yet so encouraging that I cannot begin to explain how prominent it is in my life. So often, people tell me I am “flying” too high, but my question is…what is flying too high? Is there such a thing? Well, again in the famous words of William Blake, “no bird soars too high if he soars with his own wings.”

So the next time you feel…

What to get that special hostess this Christmas

I know a lot of people forget to bring hostess gifts these days, but I found a bunch of cute items that you will love to give if you can part with them😉

I have to share how much love I have for Etsy shop Sunny Patch Soapworks I found them through the Handmade Movement team that I participate in on Etsy  and am now hooked on Kelly’s wax tarts and melts. Having a dog in the house makes me want to freshen things up and you can’t go wrong with these fresh, not overpowering scents. P.S. Anjou Pear, I love you!

Next up is a wonderful gift that is fun and practical too. Who wouldn’t love beautiful towels like the ones Michelle of Etsy shop The Vintage Home Studio creates. She takes bar mop towels and turns them from ho-hum to wow! My bathroom even looks more festive🙂

Most of us love coffee and maybe your hostess of the mostest does too; why settle for a boring coffee cup when you can make it fun, pretty and yours? Have Etsy shop LaBelleMadeleine make a monogramed mug cozy for your hostess. You could gift it on a sweet mug filled with coffee beans or even cocoa mix for a fun, easy gift.

Of course you could also add a sweet vintage teaspoon hand stamped with a cute, coffee-esque saying too. You can find that and more in my shop on Etsy.

I could go on for days but I wanted to show you some fun, cute ideas for a handmade hostess gift. Have fun checking out the Handmade Goodness.

A handmade gift guide for him

I knew that I couldn’t leave out the guys! Again I trolled Etsy for some fun, handmade gifts.

First up is a wonderful handmade hat made from upcycled yarn from Hats by Elvee

I really love gifts with a personal touch; this wallet from Elegant Monogram Gifts is awesome and can be monogrammed

Maybe your guy would enjoy an unique case for his phone from Eye Phone Cases; this one is from the iconic Uncle Sam poster.

Lastly, we can’t forget the dapper, well-dressed guy. You can have a custom tie tack hand stamped with his initial or small word from my shop

I hope these selections have inspired you to shop handmade this Christmas season!

How about a gift guide for her?

It’s that time of year again; I trolled Etsy for some fun, handmade gifts for her.

First up, one of my favorite shops on Etsy; Forgotten Cotton Can you believe how beautiful this blanket scarf is? I have lost count of how many Forgotten Cotton scarves I have, but I love each one more than the last!

Next, a fun way to jazz-up your boots; boot cuffs from knittwice I received a pair from my secret Santa and I LOVE them!

I love how Heather of Blukatdesign uses vintage and upcycled materials to create jewelry, accessories and decor- these buttons are way more fun and colorful as magnets and would make a great gift!

Most of us females love receiving jewelry, but how about a piece that has even more meaning with a favorite poem, inspirational word or special song lyric? You can order custom, hand stamped bracelets from my shop, beadsoul

I hope you see something that inspires you to shop handmade for her this Christmas!
